Ali Zafar: Aditya Chopra suggested Shaad Ali to cast me as Tutu in Kill Dil!

Ali Zafar: Aditya Chopra suggested Shaad Ali to cast me as Tutu in Kill Dil!

The Total Siyapaa actor will be seen in a completely new light in his upcoming film. Read on to find out how he got that part…

Ali Zafar is back with another film this year, Kill Dil. This YRF production venture has created a lot of buzz ever since its promos came out. His character Tutu has received a lot of rave reviews because of the specific look and the dialect. So we caught up with Ali recently and asked him as to how he ended up doing a YRF film, because he has generally been associated with newer production houses.
The ace musician turned actor opened up and informed that it was his dedication towards his previous projects that led to him getting better offers and finally his dream of working with such a big production house became a reality. But he has always been playing the hero in romcoms. When he read the script did he see himself play such a dark and raw character? We ask…
The actor said, “It was Aditya Chopra who suggested Shaad Ali to cast me as Tutu in Kill Dil. I credit him fully for thinking me in that raw and greyish shade because I had never seen myself in such a role. As an actor I want to be very versatile and want to do a variety of roles and not restrict myself to anything specific.”
The film has been riding high on the popularity meter. Ali Zafar along with Parineeti Chopra and Ranveer Singh have been getting a lot of praise for their acting in Kill Dil. Wethinks Adi has a good sense of casting and it will be great to see Ali in such a new light.

Bigg Boss 8 highlights: Upen Patel and Gautam Gulati’s big fight makes the episode watchable!

Bigg Boss 8 highlights: Upen Patel and Gautam Gulati’s big fight makes the episode watchable!

Bigg Boss 8 highlights: Upen Patel and Gautam Gulati’s big fight makes the episode watchable!

The big argument between the two men in the house made tonight’s episode an exciting watch…

Bigg Boss continued the Phone Booth task with Puneet Issar still inside the booth waiting for Karishma Tanna and Diandra Soares to give up their make-up, according to Bigg Boss’s wishes.
Here is what ensued on tonight’s episode of Bigg Boss 8:
Gautam Gulati calls Diandra a ‘tedhe dimaag wali pagal”
Gautam tries convincing Karishma to give up her make up and get done with the task so that Puneet could come out of the booth but Tanna in her annoying voice kept refusing to. Then ultimately Puneet convinced her somehow and Gautum went to put Karishma’s make-up kit in the store room. On getting a moment alone with the cameras, Gulati exhibits his asinine “footage artist” skills and also calls Diandra a tedhe dimag wali pagal. We aren’t shocked by that.
Praneet Bhatt and Gautum have a war of words
In a conversation wherein Gautum says that the whole house has misconstrued his intentions ever since the first issue with Tanna, Praneet tells Gautum hat he needs to let go of his negative attitude and become a changed man in the house for his own good. But seems like Gautam is allergic to sensible advice as he tells Praneet off for making him “unhappy”. Though Praneet speaks for Gautam’s own good, the two end up getting into a fight Gulati’s immature attitude comes to fore. We’ll just say that Gautam’s antics make us “unhappy”.
Puneet is the new crybaby in the house
Give him the slightest of a reason and Puneet, the actor who has always played a tough guy on screen, will reduce to tears in no time. On being asked by Bigg Boss as to who he trusts the most Puneet takes Praneet’s name but starts crying at the though of putting Praneet through the Phone Booth task. He cries again one more time later in the episode but we’ll get to that in the third highlight…
Minissha Lamba gets her hands, feet and more dirty for Puneet!
Yes you read that right. The same girl who was labelled as the most selfish person in the Bigg Boss house by Puneet is asked by him to get into a filthy trash can in order to get Puneet out of the booth. Well, we have to laud Minissha being a total sport and doing the task for Puneet without a second thought. Puneet is filled with guilt at misjudging Lamba and he takes the first opportunity to thank her for her bigheartedness. And yes no points for guessing, Puneet cries while thanking Minissha. Though Lamba says that she did it in team spirit she later gets together with Upen and Sonali Raut to bitch about Puneet.
Sushant Digvikar performs the worst in the Phone Booth task
When Bigg Boss asks Puneet as to who he thinks contributes the least in household duties, Sushant’s name is taken and he is next to get inside the booth. Then Bigg Boss asks his who he is closest to in the house and Digvikar names Upen. Bigg Boss gives Sushant the task to convince Upen to shave his head. When Sushant asks Upen for the same, the later refuses point blank and apologises for the same. Then Sushant tries to convince atleast one male member to shave their head but to no avail. Finally Bigg Boss asks Sushant to get Pritam or Puneet to self-nominate themselves but that too doesn’t work out in Sushan’t favour. Bad day for Sushi, we guess…
Gautam and Upen’s showdown
Its during the time Sushant is trying to get one ofthe men in the house to shave their heads thatGautam passes a snide remark about Upen. He says “JO best friend hai wo kare” (one who a best friend should shave his head.) The nasty comment really riles up Upen and he confronts Gautam for taunting him. The fight gets ugly when Gautam targets Upen’s broken English and even talks down to him. An angry Upen fights back and we get to see a whole new avatar of the usually calm and composed contestant.
Arya Babbar calls Gautam a footage artist, again!
Yes we know it was Praneet who used that tag for Gautam the first time but Arya totally called out Gautam’s BS and said, “Tu kyun hamesha kuch na kuch karke footage apni taraf le aata hai?” (Why do you always have to create a nuisance to gain attention?”) Well it cannot be said emphatically enough that Gautam is always acting for the cameras and we will never get to see his true self.
Minissha’s uncalled for rude behaviour with Praneet
In a bitching session with Upen and Sonali Minissha says that she was hurt when she found out that Puneet liked her the least in the house. She promised to her true colours to him from now on but just when she is about to say more Praneet comes and sits on the bench with Upen andSonali. A miffed Lamba retorts in a rather impolite tone, “ab aap aa gaye conversation karne” (now you have come in the middle of the conversation) and walks away rudely. That, quite naturally ticks off Praneet who says that the same thing could have been said in a more polite manner and that the house is not Minissha’s alone and that she has no right to talk to him like this. Later Minissha tries to clarify that her anger was not directed at Praneet but at Puneet, Praneet just walks away not caring about Lamba has to say. Perhaps a heart-felt apology would have made matters better.

Happy New Year fastest ever to 100 crores, shatters all previous records to put an earth shattering feat

Well, what you perhaps may have not anticipated has happened. SRK’s Happy New Year not only became the highest opener ever but also charted its way to the top at many record lists. The film that earned almost 45 crores on Friday to dethrone Dhoom 3 as the biggest opener, continued its momentum in the following days. The movie therefore, now stands at a collection of around 120 crores in just 3 days.

Happy New Year fastest ever to 100 crores, shatters all previous records to put an earth shattering feat

The Farah Khan directorial has now registered its name as a record holder for quite a few substantial feats. The film is now the biggest opener ever surpassing Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 by a huge margin. Happy New Year is now also the quickest to enter the 100 crore club taking just a little over two days to attain that solid figure. The film has also set the record of earning the maximum money in a single day besides achieving the figure of highest weekend collection. With so many box office figures going in its kitty, the film reflects the mood of the audience who’ve gone out in large numbers to watch the movie for sure. Happy New Year has cemented Shahrukh Khan’s stardom as the most appealing star on a lot of counts. The impression that some people had drawn about him not being as big a figure as Salman or Aamir, have probably been given an answer to.
While these collections have made some people have a jaw dropping expression, some have rejoiced to the fullest. It’s now going to be interesting to find if the film surmounts Dhoom 3 as the highest grosser ever too. The reviews have been extremely mixed and so is the word of mouth. But the strong promotion and film’s extravaganza is going to make sure it delivers much more than what it deserves.
